It is very easy to make such a kaleidoscope and elementary school students can do it perfectly. Kaleidoscopes can be made from various materials, for example, from bobbins from towels, plastic bottles, plastic molds and cardboard. You can also choose from what to make a reflective prism inside a kaleidoscope: it can be a mirror, a computer disk, a foil.
So, in this do-it-yourself kaleidoscope workshop, you will need the following materials:
1) a sheet of cardboard
2) foil (can be taken from milk packaging)
3) scissors
4) adhesive tape or electrical tape
5) matte and clear plastic
6) glue
7) beads, glass, pebbles, etc.
So, we pass to creation of a kaleidoscope.
1) We cut the foil into three equal strips, approximately 2 cm wide.
2) Then we glue the strips with tape into such a prism. The foil should be on the inside of the prism.
3) We take a sheet of cardboard and twist it so that a prism fits inside. We glue the resulting tube with tape or glue.
4) We cut two circles of plastic according to the diameter of our cardboard tube.
5) We place a transparent circle on a prism. And by the way, the prism should be about 1 cm shorter than the tube.
6) Put on a transparent circle beads, stones, beads, glass and everything that you see fit.
7) Glue the matte circle on top. If there is no dull circle, then you can take a transparent disk and glue it with parchment paper or rub it with emery paper (null) until it becomes dull.
8) So, now we do the lens (where to look) to the kaleidoscope. To do this, draw and cut out of cardboard a circle along the diameter of the pipe, plus another centimeter.
9) We make incisions on the added one centimeter.
10) And glue on the back of the pipe.
11) That's all, the outside of the kaleidoscope can be decorated with colored paper, an interesting print or foil.
