Now we will first make the candles ourselves, and then we will decorate them using the decoupage technique.
To make candles, we take the following:
- Paraffin;
- Wick;
- Holders for the wick;
- Two glass cups, we will use as forms;
- New Year's three-layer napkin for decoupage;
- Bowl of iron for a water bath;
- Gold glitter;
- Gold acrylic paint;
- Flavor "Needles";
- Lighter;
- Tablespoon;
- Scissors;
- A few white napkins;
- Toothpicks.
Take a few pieces of paraffin, put them in a metal container and put on a boiling water bath for a weak light. To paraffin melted gradually, but be careful not to boil. While the paraffin melts while we prepare the wick.
Cut off two segments of the wick, the length of the cup with a margin of two centimeters, so that the wick remains on top of the candle. We insert each segment of the wick into the holder, lower it into the center of each cup and lower it onto the toothpicks. We see that the wick is strictly in the center and touches the bottom.
We put prepared containers on napkins so as not to stain the surface. The wax has already completely melted, you can fill the mold.
Fill the cups so that the tips of the wick remain on top. We drip in each cup two drops of coniferous fragrance.
Leave the candles to harden for about 1.5-2 hours. Before you get the candles out of the forms, they need to be put in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. They then fall out of the cups well. While the candles are cold, prepare a napkin. We cut off the drawings we need with scissors.
Now remove the top layer from each piece. Now we tear apart one decorative element carefully. So it is much more convenient to stick them to the surface of the candle.
We got the candles, proceed to the decoration. We heat a tablespoon with a lighter.
We put a picture on a candle and draw a hot spoon over the picture. The napkin begins to merge with the candles. So in a circle we take the next picture and the next. Next, we look at places where there is no decor and already tearing off individual pieces of the napkin, we glue it to the places we need. So glue both candles.
Now we draw snowflakes with gold glitter and set dots with gold paint. On top of each candle we make a gold rim. For about 20-30 minutes the glitter hardens and the candles are ready. They will look very beautiful on your New Year's table and saturate your house with the aroma of pine needles on a festive night.
