Surprisingly, it is not difficult to sew a round bag, because there is no need for a lining, a variety of seams and special sewing tricks. And it is the external flashing that makes it perfectly round, since the stitched base from the inside “at the exit” has the shape of an ellipse.
So, it's time to get acquainted with the basic list of materials necessary for work. It:
• a piece of leather or dermatin (you can use old things as a basis, for this model, for example, even a sleeve from a jacket will be enough);
• zipper 15-20 cm long;
• a decorative keychain or a brush to decorate the bag (you can make a similar one yourself, but the factory version will look more profitable);
• leather braid in the form of a braid (up to 30 cm);
• a large bead or any elastic ball with a through and wide enough hole;
• needle and thread for sewing (No. 30);
• flat dining table;
• universal waterproof glue (better specifically for working with skin);
• Double-sided tape;
• marker.
Make two round parts of leather. To do this, attach a template plate to the inside and circle with a marker.
Cut both with a small allowance for the hem for gluing, backing up to 1 cm from the outer edge of the circles.
On the front side of one of the circles, make a cut under the zipper. It should be precisely marked with a ruler and be sure to make it “oblique”. The lightning will be equidistant from each edge only if the same distance (within 1.5 cm) departs from the outer sides.
Now the cut area needs to be expanded and a small strip inside cut out, making the slot more voluminous.
On the seamy side, near the opposite edges of the cut, glue tape to help keep the zipper in one position.
Sew it around the entire perimeter of the rectangle with straight stitches from the front of the front.
Next, lubricate the edge in the outlined area with glue and tuck.
After a short period of time, the glue will seize and fix the fabric in the desired position.
After that, you can immediately proceed to stitching parts without preliminary marking.
Now you need to make a pen. Cut a longitudinal strip 50 cm long and fold the outer edges inward. Grab them with a needle, flashing the center of this workpiece from top to bottom with a thread.
At the end of the finished handle, fasten a small ring, which will serve as a connecting link with a zipper.
Attach the edge of the curly braid to the same fastener and thread the ball.
It remains to "close" the scythe with a brush and the bag is ready!
