Just a super device for quick cleaning of the workplace. We drilled, drank it, carried it with a magnetic brush, and in a couple of seconds we removed the metal chips in one motion. A very convenient and necessary thing. Collects the smallest granules, which is so difficult to achieve with a regular brush.
Such a miracle is made in two counts. There are no scarce materials, all parts are from any master in the workshop.
Will need
- Round magnet from the dynamic head.
- Particleboard or fiberboard, or any other sheet of thick material made of wood with a thickness of more than 8 mm.
- Sheet of thin veneer or plastic.
- Door knob.
- A pair of screws.
- PVA glue.
- Universal adhesive.
- Small nails.
- Wooden slats.
DIY magnetic brush making
The first step is to find the magnet. Its shape does not have to be round. I had an old speaker lying around from which I pulled out this round magnet. According to its size, sawed a rectangle with an allowance in width of about 5-8 mm to the side. And it’s 2-3 cm longer.
Next, take the rail and encircle the magnet on the rectangle. You can use PVA glue for this or small nails. I applied both methods for reliability.
The round magnet is upholstered close to one side of the rectangle.
On the opposite side there should be a movable rail that will move. We try on it and adjust it to the size.
Next, cut the lid from thin veneer or plastic according to the size of the existing rectangle, 5-8 mm longer.
We glue the moving part to it with PVA glue.
Glue the magnet onto the universal glue in the box.
Sets the lid and knock down with thin nails on the sides. It turns out a kind of hinge in which the lid opens.
Glue the rail to the extension of the lid, which will be used as a handle to open the box.
The result is such a kind of box with a magnet inside that can open like this:
Turn over, bottom view:
Again, turn over and screw the door handle on top of the screws, for which we will hold the brush at the time of application.
The magnetic brush is ready for use.
Let's try to collect the scattered nails.
Magnet is good, the lifting force is normal.
It is necessary to open the bottom cover and all the nails obediently fell down.
That's how it works.
We clean the workplace
So, we conduct tests directly at the forefront, remove the workplace.
A few movements and the chip adroitly sticks to the sole of the device.
Easy movement with opening the roof and all the chips flies famously to the right place.
The workplace is cleaned.
I sincerely recommend making you a similar brush for your workshop. Because with it you can not only clean metal filings, but also collect the necessary parts, such as nuts, screws, screws and so on.
