For the rug in the toilet room you will need:
- an old green robe,
- yellow scarf,
- a children's undershirt of orange color,
- scissors
- hook
- a needle with a thread.
We take off the dressing gown for parts, separating the lock, belt, sleeves, and pockets so that when cutting strips the fabric is single, not thick. Then cut everything into strips of at least 0.5 mm. and no more than 2 cm., otherwise, either the fabric will tear, or the mat will be very stiff.
Long items can be cut into strips and then stitched. Or you can, like small parts, cut in a circle or, not reaching the edge of the fabric, start to cut the fabric in the opposite direction, repeating the procedure until the material is finished.
As soon as you cut the clothes into strips, you begin to tie the ends to create the effect of weed, and twist the "threads" into a ball. You can pre-sew the ends of the strips, then the mat will turn out more even. You can choose any drawing based on your goals. So for a cold floor, knit a rug tight from columns without a crochet or with 1.2.3 crochets, which depends on the thickness of the strips. To decorate chairs, you can knit openwork rugs, taking as a basis any pattern of napkins.
In this case, the mat is knitted from 6 rows of green stripes with 3 double crochets and 1 row of yellow single crochet strips. Next, crochet any decoration for the rug: a 7-petal flower, leaves and sew with threads to the rug. Please note that for bedding on chairs it is better to immediately select an openwork pattern or decorate with applique to make it comfortable to sit.
Thus, special professional knitting skills to create a regular rug from old things are not required. It will be enough elementary knowledge on the set of yarn and imagination for the design of the product.
