In this review, the author shows how to make home-made sectional lifting doors for the garage with your own hands.
First of all, it will be necessary to cut off with a grinder a corner 50 * 50 mm in height of the gate. Then we drill holes for fixing the corner.
Further, the author cuts the blanks from a metal plate for the manufacture of angle fixing eyes.
The corner is attached on the sides and in the upper part of the doorway. Then they are welded together. The result is a U-shaped frame.
Eyelets with drilled holes need to be welded to the corner in the upper and lower parts, as well as in the middle in 2-3 places.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, the author proceeds to manufacture the gate frame itself. To do this, cut the workpieces from the profile pipe 40 * 40 mm.
Holes must be drilled at the bottom of the sidewalls so that the furniture rollers can be fixed.
Sidewalls from the profile pipe are temporarily welded to the main frame from the corner, so that it is convenient to expose the second sidewall.
Next, cut and grab the bottom of the gate frame. Then we perform a similar operation with the upper part. Just leave a small gap.
Inside the gate frame (in the middle), it will also be necessary to weld two jumpers. Then the lower and upper central racks are welded to them.
Further down the center, at the junction of the horizontal lintels, it is necessary to weld the awnings so that the gates can fold.
Garage Door Assembly Process
After that, we cut off the tack grinder along the edges, remove the gate frame and scald it well.
We cut the sidewalls in half, check how the gates fold. Then we install the frame in place, fix it with clamps and weld the upper outer loops.
Next, we install the fasteners with rollers for the steel cable and select a counterweight.
To the side posts of the main frame (which is from the corner), it will be necessary to weld the stops so that the gate rises clearly to a certain level in height.
After that, we proceed to the manufacture of the lock-latch for the gate.
To make it convenient to raise and lower the gates, the master welds two home-made handles to the frame: in the lower and central parts.
At the last stage, it remains only to paint the finished frame and sheathe it with a professional sheet. On the sides and in the upper part we glue the sealant.
