In this review, the author shares the idea of how to make a simple folding table for outdoor recreation with your own hands.
We called it “Auto-Tail” for a reason - a makeshift table is like a continuation of the car, and is attached to the hitch bracket. The main thing is that the parking brake is applied.
For the manufacture of a table you will need: a profile pipe, a pair of flanges, two pieces of a round pipe with a thread at the end, and two metal mounting corners.
The main stages of work
First of all, cut the workpiece of the desired length from a round and profile pipes. The author uses plywood as a countertop: cuts two pieces of the right size and fastens them together with self-tapping screws.
We fasten two flanges to the bottom of the table, into which we then screw two legs - from segments of a round pipe.
At the next stage, the author drills holes in the turnbuckle bracket and the profile pipe to connect them together using a steel “finger”.
We weld to the profile pipe one more piece of the profile, to which two corners are welded. After that, we clean the metal with a grinder, plywood can be treated with mineral oil.
