In this review, the author shows an unusual way of attaching a wooden shelf to a wall. For this, the master uses ordinary dowels.
Please note that this mounting method, although simple, is not designed for heavy loads.
On the shelves you can store books, various decorative items and other things with little weight.
First of all, cut to the size of the board. Then it is necessary to cut wooden dowels 10 cm long. In boards, the author drills holes for dowels.
The main stages of work
After you have drilled holes in the shelf, you need to cut off part of the shelf. Thus, we get two parts of the shelf with holes.
At the next stage, we proceed to the processing of wooden dowels. The part that will be in the shelf itself needs to be sanded a little (reduced in diameter).
Next, we fix the wooden rail to the wall, exposing it in level. Previously, she already needs to hammer in the dowels. And not only to hammer, but also to “plant” PVA glue.
Then we install the shelf itself. If the dowels are well fitted, then it will "sit" tightly in its place. Here is a way.
You can see the detailed process of installing wooden shelves in the video on our website.
