In this review, the author decided to make something useful from the scrap metal that had accumulated in his area. And for the homemade work the old rim was chosen. From it we will make a barbecue grill for a summer residence.
In this case, the author uses the front wheel drive from a tractor, but you can also take it from a truck - this is not important. The main thing is to have something to work with.
First of all, the author makes a marking around the circumference of the disk and with the help of a grinder cuts off the excess. When working with angle grinders, safety precautions must be observed so that the cutting disc does not bite.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, with the help of the blade disc, it will be necessary to remove the burrs at the cut point, as well as to clean the surface of the metal from rust.
The hole in the center of the rim needs to be welded. To do this, you can use the “patch” from a round plate or simply cut off several strips of metal and cut them to the shape of the hole.
After that, the author cuts three pieces of a round pipe (legs of a barbecue grill) and welds them to the rim. And in the lower part of the bottom around the circumference you need to drill through holes with a drill.
In the end, it remains only to make a removable lattice from a piece of reinforcement and a building lattice, which is used for reinforcement.
