What can be done from the scraps remaining after repair or any project of the board? Yes, anything - for which there is enough imagination! For example, you can make your own original tray.
The first step is to align the boards. And for this it is convenient to use a thicknessing machine. If there is no thicknesser, then it is possible with an electric planer. Well, if the boards are even, then nothing needs to be done at all.
At the next stage, we make the markup and cut the boards to size. Next, we assemble the rectangular frame. Workpieces can simply be put together with nails, but for greater reliability, it is better to use glue as well.
Manufacturing process tray
On the bottom side of the frame we nail boards with a small distance from each other. It should turn out, as in the photo below.
In the upper part of the frame (at the edges), we nail two more boards, and then, using a crown on a tree, drill holes in them.
After that, cut off two pieces of a copper tube (or you can use aluminum / brass) and make pens. They need to be screwed on the sides of the tray.
The last stage is grinding and painting. Instead of paint, you can also use wood varnish or mineral oil (for example, if you use precious wood instead of ordinary boards and emphasize its texture).
