The first step is to cut out a quarter of the circle from plywood (quadrant) on a band saw or a jigsaw. This will be the shelf itself, or rather, its upper part.
The edge part of the workpieces will need to be processed on a grinding machine. The dimensions of the shelves can be different, depending on what cache you need and what you are going to store in it.
At the next stage, the master cuts the planks of the required thickness from the board, and then places them in a steam chamber for wood. You also need to cut off the metal plates, drill holes in them and paint.
The process of making a shelf with a cache
Next, you need to get the wooden planks from the steam chamber and bend them on the template with an arc, then fix using clamps.
You will also need to cut another blank in the form of a quadrant, but already from sheet metal. The edges will need to be bent so that a box is obtained.
After that, a metal plate is welded to the box, the welds are cleaned with a grinder. A recess is made in the shelf. The box is attached from below using a furniture hinge.
The master glues a wooden plank to the front edge of the shelf, and fixes it with a clamp. Then it remains only to cover the outer surface with varnish, and the shelf is ready.
