At home, in a garage or workshop for cleaning or leveling surfaces often have to use sandpaper. It’s just not convenient to process blanks while holding the tape in your hands. For this purpose, it is better to use a holder.

This device is worth a penny and can be purchased on any construction market. However, the quality of cheap holders often leaves much to be desired, and constantly have to change them like gloves.

However, there is an alternative option - to make a simple quick-release holder for sandpaper yourself. And for this you need a rectangular profile pipe with a cross section of 30 * 60 mm, as well as springs and fasteners.

The main stages of work

First of all, the master cuts off a workpiece about 150-200 mm long from the profile pipe (this will be the holder body), and then cuts out other necessary details - the cover and a small bracket with teeth.

Then you need to connect the two parts (main body and cover) together. To do this, the wizard drills holes in the marked area.

At the last stage of work, it is necessary to paint all the workpieces, and then assemble the holder. You will also need a flat-head bolt, a nut and washer, two springs and two metal rods.

Details on how to make a simple quick-release holder for sandpaper with your own hands can be found in the video on the website.
