In order to perform the grinding process of various products from wood, metal and other materials, sandpaper is often required. It is not very convenient to manually peel. And if you are not so often and professionally engaged in grinding, then for household needs it is wise to make a homemade hand grinder (grinder).

In the manufacture of the product we will use an electric motor from an old printer. You will also need: two bushings (one with bearings inside, the other hollow), a switch button, a socket for a power cable, a wire, a pair of wooden bars, metal plates.

Also required fasteners: screws, bolts, washers, nuts, and tools: grinder, drill, screwdriver or screwdriver. The size of the product will depend on the size of the sanding belts that you prefer to use.

The main stages of work

First you need to prepare the basis for mounting the motor from a wooden beam. We process it in such a way that one part serves as a convenient handle, and the other is holding. In it, we make a recess and a round hole for the size of the inserted part of the engine. We attach the engine to the wooden structure with self-tapping screws.

We fasten the sleeve to the rotating pin of the engine. In the bar, holes should be made for the start button, a socket for connecting and outputting the wire. We will prepare the second bar, two elongated metal strips and two short, almost square.

We round long strips from one edge, drill a round hole at one end, and an oblong one at the other.

All strips should be the same width. We glue the "shorties" on the edges of the second bar, drill them in the center. Then we attach long strips to the bar to short ones through oblong holes. Using a bolt, washers and nuts, we fix the sleeve with bearings on the rounded end of the metal strips.

We connect the bars with screws. We install the start button and the socket for the electric wire in the block, attach it to the motor, wrap the contacts with insulating tape. We wind stationery gum on a sleeve attached to the motor.

We put the sanding belt on our design, turn on the power cord. Homemade hand grinder is ready to go! By pressing the start button, we start the grinder.
