If you are a fan of old computer games (on video game consoles), you will probably like the idea of making an original coffee table in the form of a joystick. Moreover, in addition to its main function, a home-made table will also perform a decorative one - it will become an excellent decoration of the interior.
First of all, it is necessary to glue the template of the upper front surface of the coffee table in A4 size sheets in a full-sized version. We use plywood or MDF as the material. First, cut out the controls and glue them together.
Then we cut out additional buttons with a jigsaw. Everything at this stage should turn out five elements of the joystick. We process details on a milling machine or using a manual milling machine. If you use not MDF, but plywood, you will also need to grind the surface.
The main stages of work
We cut out the patterns of all buttons (crosses, oval and round), and then with the help of a jigsaw and hand milling cutter we make “seats” under the buttons in the very table top of the coffee table and on the bottom we attach the lining so that the buttons do not fail.
Next, we frame the countertop itself and the control buttons. We use for this a dark fiberboard or other material of a contrasting color. At the next stage, we prepare other details of the coffee table, and put everything together.
