Thanks to homemade mounting on the grinder, you can install several brushes for metal at the same time. This allows you to quickly cope with the cleaning of large steel sheets from rust, dirt and traces of paint.
In this case, the so-called twisted cones with wire brushes for grinders are used. The first step is to prepare the necessary materials for the manufacture of this device.
For this, two plates are cut out of a sheet of metal. With the help of a grinder, we round the slightly upper edges. In one of the cut-out plates, we drill three holes: the central one - with a metal bit, on the sides - with a drill. In another plate, only one hole needs to be drilled in the center of the workpiece.
The main stages of work
In a steel plate with a thickness of about 1.5-2 cm, and drill a hole in it for the diameter of the reducer of an angle grinder. From the resulting part, we then cut out a homemade mounting clamp and drill holes for the bolt in it.
In the next step, we weld the clamp to a plate with one hole. We weld two bolts or pieces of studs to the second plate, and we fix the housing bearing. Then we press a piece of pipe into it.
We weld an elongated nut to the M14 stud, and then put brushes on the metal on it, separating them among themselves with nuts and washers. Then, from the cylinder from the fire extinguisher, we cut out the protective casing and weld the side plates to it.
