Such an unusual shelf has a "modest" design and has a compact size, but it allows you to store a large number of keys to the house, apartment, car, etc. Additionally, a top removable cover is provided, which is fixed with neodymium magnets - under it there is a hidden compartment for various small things.
Below are also installed small magnets to which keys with key rings are attached or separately from the bunch. Despite the fact that the design itself is very simple, the shelf is quite functional and easy to use.
To make this homemade product, you will need three boards of a suitable size, small neodymium magnets and fasteners. From the tool you will need a miter saw (or you can use a circular saw), a drilling machine or an ordinary electric drill, as well as a special device to make “oblique” hidden fasteners at an angle.
The main stages of work
To make this shelf, you will need three boards: two light, one dark, so that there is a slight contrast. The default dimensions are 80x150 mm, however you can make a wall shelf for individual sizes.
In two boards we mark four holes, 1.5 cm back from the edge. In the board, which will be in the middle, it is necessary to cut a rectangular “window” on the pendulum saw. In the third board, we mark and drill five landing holes for neodymium magnets.
We glue two boards and drill two hidden holes for attaching to the wall. Neodymium magnets are installed in previously drilled holes on the drilling machine. Then we fasten the shelf to the wall and “fasten” the top cover. The result is a very simple, compact and pretty key shelf.
