For this homemade work, we will use an old (you can even rusty) car disk, which can be found on a metal receiver or "dig" among other things trash in the garage. Before starting work, it will not be out of place to tell a little about the merits of such a “coil”.

  • Firstly, it is light and compact, does not take up much space.
  • Secondly, it allows you to conveniently store the watering hose so that it does not get tangled under your feet.
  • Thirdly, it is the simplest and most affordable hose storage solution. In general, a useful thing for a private house and cottage.

Well, now we get to work.

Step 1: preparing a car drive

First of all, it is necessary to clean the disk from rust - for this, we arm ourselves with a grinder and carefully grind the metal surface from the outside and from the inside with a brush. Then we put a rope or wire through the hole in the disk, suspend it and paint it with spray paint. While the paint dries, you can make another blank for this homemade product.

Step 2: making a vertical stand

We cut a length of 120-150 cm from the edged board (depending on the desired height). We install a wooden vertical stand in the right place on the site and drill two holes in it for mounting the car disk. Well, then we fix the disc itself - the "reel" for storing the watering hose is ready.

It turned out very simple and practical. And most importantly - inexpensive. The process of manufacturing and using such a "coil" made from an old disc, see the video on the site.
