In this review, the author shows how to make a simple device for cutting sheet metal out of improvised tools.
It will take a piece of the board, a piece of bent tube (can be cut from the handlebars of the bike), two corners, a saw blade from a hand saw in wood.
In corners, a tube and a saw cloth it is necessary to drill fixing holes.
In the bent tube, which is used as a handle, you need to make a cut so that you can insert the saw blade.
The main stages of work
First of all, insert the hacksaw blade into the groove in the tube, and fix it with bolts and nuts. Part of the blade web with teeth can be cut off or simply a “plug” can be made from a piece of sheet metal.
Next, take the first corner and fasten it to a section of the board (you can use a piece of plywood).
At the next stage, the author fastens the second one to the first corner, inserting a canvas with a handle between them. It should be movable (that is, we fix only one bolt).
After that, we fasten the homemade product to the workbench, and you can start cutting metal. It should be noted right away that this design is exclusively for sheet metal.
