In the home workshop and garage, especially if you make various home-made products, it is difficult to do without a grinding machine. With it, you can sharpen the tool and process different workpieces.

But what if there is so far no opportunity to buy a full-fledged grinder in the workshop? At first, you can do with a do-it-yourself belt sander. An electric drill will act as a drive.

First of all, the author cuts circles out of plywood and glues two drums (rollers) from them onto which the sanding belt will be pulled.

The main stages of work

The author uses a piece of plywood as the basis for a belt grinding mini-machine. Two bars are installed on it in parallel (in this case, the author uses wooden railings).

Also, from two bars it will be necessary to make a mount for an electric drill in order to firmly fix it during operation.

At the next stage, the master attaches to the outer sides of the bars the tension mechanism of the driven roller. To make it, two pieces of the corner, studs and nuts were used.

Then it remains only to fix the metal base plate so that the sanding belt does not bend, and you can proceed with the assembly of the entire structure.
